Report: Mavericks looking to move No. 13 pick to clear out cap space for run at Howard, CP3
It’s no secret that the Dallas Mavericks want to get a big star to pair with — and eventually take over the franchise mantle from — Dirk Nowitzki. And there are only two franchise-caliber players on the market this season, Chris Paul and Dwight Howard. But to offer a max contract Dallas has to make…

Report: Mike Krzyzewski to return, coach Team USA in 2016 Olympics
Looks like Kevin Love will not have to do any recruiting after all. After saying before, during and immediately after Team USA won the gold medal in London last summer that he was done as the head coach of the team, Mike Krzyzewski has had a change of heart. Coach K will be back to…

Lakers GM Kupchak denies he, Howard talked about D’Antoni
Who do you want to believe? Monday came a report from the very reliable Dave McMenamin at ESPNLosAngeles.com that in his exit interview Dwight Howard expressed frustration with coach Mike D’Antoni to GM Mitch Kupchak. Which isn’t hard to believe if you watched the Lakers at all this year. But when Kevin Ding of the…

Phil Jackson Won’t Coach Clippers Because It’s ‘Creepy’
Phil Jackson won’t be coaching the Los Angeles Clippers because, well, that would be creepy. The Clippers agreed to part ways with head coach Vinny Del Negro—whose contract was up—on Tuesday, paving the way for them to hire anyone they wanted—so long as Donald Sterling was willing to actually pay them and Chris Paul approved.
Naturally, attention immediately turned to the Zen Master. Surely Sterling would pay him and Paul consent to it. He’s won 11 championships as a head coach. Who wouldn’t want him meandering up and down their sidelines?
Apparently the Clippers.

Phil Jackson tells Dan Patrick he thought he was offered Laker job; talks Kobe vs. Jordan
Phil Jackson was on the Dan Patrick show Tuesday — Jackson’s new book “11 Rings” is on sale as of today — and sat down for a long interview. I mean long — this is nearly 30 minutes, so you should only listen to this at work and not spend your valuable personal time on…

Dwight Howard Not Happy with Mike D’Antoni
To no one’s surprise, Dwight Howard isn’t happy.Superman is often found smirking and joking around, but he’s not genuinely happy. Not with the Los Angeles Lakers, specifically Mike D’Antoni.
According to Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com, Howard’s exit interview with general manager Mitch Kupchak comprised of him expressing extreme dissatisfaction with D’Antoni and all he stood for:
Howard was one of several Lakers — Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol being the most noteworthy — to have an extended separate meeting with the GM after his exit interview with both Kupchak and D’Antoni, multiple sources confirmed to ESPNLosAngeles.com.

Kobe tweets he wants Howard and Gasol back with Lakers
Kobe Bryant thinks this Lakers roster can work. Well, he at least thinks his chance at a much-coveted sixth ring is more likely if the Lakers bring back two of the top big men in the game, as opposed to having just one and restructuring the lineup to be closer to what Mike D’Antoni prefers.…

Why there’s a 100 percent chance the NBA lottery is fixed
The NBA lottery is fixed. There’s no question about it. Just as last year’s draft order was determined by a David Stern-led conspiracy, this year’s will be determined the same way. Think about it. If the NBA lottery really were legitimate, why not conduct the draw publically rather than in a back room? If the…

Report: Dwight Howard told Lakers GM he was frustrated with D’Antoni
From the start, there was one thing most likely to keep Mike D’Antoni from returning as Lakers coach — free agent Dwight Howard. It may not have been that direct — and it may not change who is the Lakers coach next season — but apparently Howard let Lakers management know exactly how he feels…
