Nicolas Batum Hits Rare Statistical Mark
Last night’s match-up between the Portland Trailblazers had a few things stand out.First and foremost, there was the flash of late game brilliance from the league’s best newcomer. Hornets guard Greivis Vazquez fell just two rebounds short of a triple double (the first of his career), finishing with 23 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds. The Blazers’ JJ Hickson had himself a terrific outing, collecting 24 points and snagging 16 boards.

Kevin Love Is “Not Close To 100%”
After breaking his hand earlier in the season, Kevin Love was finally back in action for the Timberwolves. He’s first game back was on the road against Portland. Though the Wolves lost 103-95, Love had a pretty good game (decent by his standards) with 24 points and 13 rebounds. His percentages weren’t very high at all, with Love shooting 6-15 from the field (2-7 from up-close).Regardless, it was a pretty good performance. Evidently, Love doesn’t think so:

Brandon Roy’s Reaction to Another Knee Surgery
The Minnesota Timberwolves’ Brandon Roy received some bad news yesterday. After aggravating his knee injury on November 9th, Roy has been informed that he will have to have yet another knee surgery. To this point, that makes 5 knee surgeries for Minnesota’s all-star guard.When asked about the possibility of his career being over due to this recent setback, Roy maintains the composure he’s been known for on the court:
“I wouldn’t be disappointed either way,’’ Roy said. “If it ends in three weeks, it ends. It’s over. I’m totally satisfied with what I’ve done.”
