Leonardo DiCaprio On His Hollywood Heroes & Five Favorite Movies

Leonardo DiCaprio may be one of Hollywood’s most respected actors, but the “Shutter Island” star took his Esquire cover story in the March 2010 issue as a chance to talk about his Hollywood heroes.

“Out of any actor, I can’t think of anyone who’s got more memorable moments in cinema than Jack Nicholson,” he told the mag. “Jack never takes a single line straight on. Never takes an emotion written in the script at face value. He brings terror into what you thought was supposed to be a light moment and makes a light moment out of a cutthroat vicious line. He flips everything on its side.”

"I think Vienna's a great girl. I don't think there's anything wrong with her."

Checking the numbers on the economy

The Obama administration released an annual economic report on Feb. 11, 2010, in which it looked back at the previous year's events and summarized its policy goals for the future. The report is "a blend of history, analysis and prescription," wrote Christina Romer, the chair of the president's Council of Economic Advisers, on the White House Web site. She also singled out the economic stimulus passed a year ago, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, for praise: "When the political rancor of the moment passes and dispassionate analysis is done by experts, I have no doubt that the American Recovery ... >>More

Jennifer Connelly depicts the wife of explorer Charles Darwin in Jon Amiel’s new film “Creation,” and Darwin himself would probably marvel at the performance. Part psychological thriller, and part heart-wrenching love story, “Creation” takes a distinctive, inside look at the single most explosive idea in history, Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species.” She stars with husband Paul Bettany.
